November 2nd is an eggcellent day to make and serve a favorite hors-d’oeuvre–deviled eggs. With a little preparation you can have a tasty and protein-packed treat. Make them the star of the show today!
For basic deviled eggs, hard-boil your eggs, peel and split in half. Scoop out the yolks and add mayo, salt & pepper. Stuff the mixture into the eggs and top with a sprinkle of paprika. Add a little spice with some mustard and curry powder. Try adding different toppings such as bacon, relish, jalapenos…the possibilities are endless! You can even turn them into a dessert! Create chocolate deviled eggs by subbing the yolky center with a mixture of cream cheese, cocoa powder, powdered sugar, and heavy cream. Top with sprinkles and a pinch of sea salt. Yum!
One method of making hard-boiled eggs that is gaining popularity is using an air fryer. Simply preheat the air fryer to 270 degrees F, add the eggs and cook for 15 minutes. Remove the eggs and put them into an ice bath. Peel when cool enough to handle.
